LinkedIn Leading Indicator of Quitting

I’m noticing: there’s a high statistical correlation between people getting more than one recommendation on their LinkedIn profile and switching jobs. In fact I haven’t found a single case in my network where 2+ recommendations have not been coincident with an effort to find a new job.

A new tool for managers, perhaps? Monitor LinkedIn to see which of your employees are about to flee.

Your secret plan is to have managers fire all employees who get positive recommendations? ;-)
Sure. Keeping the employees who cannot get anyone to vouch for them sounds like a great plan!

LOL. That is a pretty good plan actually.

I was more thinking steps could be taken to prevent them from leaving. It’s tool late to change someone’s mind once they’ve found another job, but if you get them early you might be able to accommodate them by moving them to a different group or manager or working through whatever other issue there might be.
