World Income and Life Expectancy Visualization

Check out this income versus life expectancy graph. Costa Rica and Chile seem to be good value for the money, while Botswana and South Africa are not.

It’s called AIDS. Did you have any idea that in 2007, life expectancy was DROPPING anywhere in the world? I sure didn’t.

Although I’m sure it’s not quite what you meant, the term “value for money” makes it seem like Botswana and South Africa might be a bad investment. In fact, that’s where we should be investing most agressively, trying to prevent the needless death of huge numbers of working-age people (the very people best suited for solving their countries’ problems!).

Nice chart, thanks for the link, never seen that before, off course there are many more factors to take into consideration when looking at the life expectancy of a country.
